Flying

The best way to get to Sibiu International Airport (SBZ) from Central, South and Western Europe (or anywhere else in the world) is flying with a layover in Germany (Munich) or Austria (Vienna). Other options include also flying to Cluj International Airport (CLJ) or to Bucharest Otopeni Airport (OTP) and renting a car to get to Sibiu.

Zurich - Sibiu (SBZ) (with layover)

Geneva - Sibiu (SBZ) (with layover)

Memmingen (Germany) - Sibiu (SBZ) (direct)

Basel - Cluj-Napoca (CLJ) (direct) +   ~2 hours to Sibiu.

If flying to Bucharest (OTP) is the better option, one can get to Sibiu either by driving (recommended) or by train:

  Bucuresti - Sibiu (~4 hours)

  Bucuresti - Sibiu

Adjust the dates and times above as they best suit your needs.

Driving

While flying is by far the more convenient and fastest way to get to Sibiu, driving all the way can also be an enjoyable experience:
